Spring flowers come in two categories, the early spring and the late spring. Under these two categories there are the types of flowers who bloom in spring and depending on the time of flowering. Knows some of those, you might want to plant them in your yard. Types of Spring Flowers: Early Spring Flowers

Yellow Anemone (Anemone ranunculoides) – this type of spring flower are also known as the yellow wood anemone of buttercup anemone. This is a species of a herbaceous perennial plant that grows in the forest across most of continental Europe but rarely in Mediterranean region. This plant has a flower with five to eight rich yellow colored petals and its 1.5 cm diameter.

Early Star-of-Bethlehem (Gagea bohemica) – this plant was also known as the Welsch star of Bethlehem of the Radnor lily. This is the genus Gagea of the family Liliceae and this can be found in Mediterranean region, central Europe and some parts of France and Germany. This flower can be seen from January to March or April and there are around four flower on each of the plants and the flowers are in yellow color with six petals and it was about 1 ½ cm in its diameter.

Iris – this is also a genus that includes as many as 200 to 300 species of flowering plants with different colorful flowers. They can be found in various part of the world and they exist a wide variety of iris flower. This is also the state flower of Tennessee and they are extensively grown as ornamental plants in the garden.

Eastern Redbud (Cercis Canadensis) – this is a small tree or large shrub that commonly found in eastern North America. Its flower can be seen during April or May and it’s papilionaceous and rose colored. It has five petals which the upper petal is the smallest and it was enclosed in the bud by the wings and encircled by the broader petals. These kind o flowers are borne in groups of four to eight together.

Types of Spring Flowers: Late Spring Flowers

Mountain-laurel (Kalmia latifolia) – this is the type of spring flower that are known as Spoonwood. This is belong to the family of Ericaceae and native in the eastern united states. This flower just bloom between May and June and t has a star shape that appears in clusters. This plant has a flower colors that range from red to pink to white.

Spring Snowflake (Leucojum vernum) – this are native to southern Europe but already been introduced to other locations already. This plant has a small and bell-shaped flower, with some white and green spot at the end of each petal. This can also be seen from March and May and it have a slight distinctive frangance.

Sweet crabapple (Malus coronaria) – this was native in North America and its flower appears on May or June. It has arose-colored flower and borne in five or six flowered umbels. It has a five round petals and long narrow claws; it also shows a crenulated margin.

Bloodroot (Sanguinaria Canadensis) – this was native in eastern North America. Its flowers appear over clasping leaves while blooming and it has 8-12 delicate white petals and a yellow reproductive parts. This can be seen during March to May.

Spring flowers are just like those other flowers; the only differences are spring flowers will start to bloom if the cold winter comes. It is also know as the earliest blooming plants; there best ability is to give us a jump on the growing season. This kind of flowers really required a freeze and period of dormancy. They will be the first to provide early season beauty in your garden, while other kinds of flowers are still sleeping. And because they can fight the cold they also called as a hardy bulb.

Spring flowers represent beautifully than other flowers, they first show to the world the beauty and occurrence of a life after long winter. They give life to the first insects, they give life to all. So value each flowers we seen in our surroundings.
