In a word… Aloe. As a child growing up in the Midwest my mother always had an aloe plant in the window. She would break open a leave and put it on skin, burns, scrapes and scratches. I thought she was a little off her nut. Turns out… She was right.
What Affects Our Skin?
Stress is a huge contributor to wrinkles. Frowning gives you those furrowed lines between your eyebrows. Houseplants however have been proven to make you a happier individual; more optimistic, calmer and increase your general wellbeing. You have a purpose, with houseplants; they depend on you. We are less likely to suffer from headaches, loneliness and depression. They have even been known to assist those with high blood pressure.
Moisture And Sleep
Keeping your skin moist is of the utmost importance whether you’re young or old or in between. Just a couple of houseplants can make a difference in how much humidity is in the air. They are a great supplier of humidity. And we all know, or should, how important a good night’s sleep is to our complexion. Plants give off oxygen; this is simply a scientific fact. But special plants such as Gerbera daisies are really good at it.
