Flowers are important for many different occasions: birthdays, parties, weddings and of course, anniversaries. Each anniversary has a specific flower that should be given and many people believe that if a couple does not receive this flower or they do not buy it for themselves then their marriage will not last. It is an old wives tale but many people still believe it today.

The First Five Years in Flowers

The first anniversary should be celebrated with carnations. Carnations represent the ties of vows lasting and the commitment of the years to come. The second anniversary should be celebrated with the lily of the valley because it shows the purity of a relationship and acknowledges devotion. It stands as a powerful symbol of love. Moving on to the third anniversary, sunflowers are best because they denote warmth and strength within a marriage. They also show fidelity and loyalty. For the fourth anniversary, hydrangeas are perfect because they show appreciated and gratefulness. The fifth anniversary flower is a daisy because it is innocent and gentle.

The 20th through the 40th in Flowers

The later anniversary are more special because they represent years spent as a married couple. The 20th anniversary flower is the aster. It represents good fortune and wisdom. The Iris celebrates the 25th anniversary with faith of a long and happy marriage. The 30th anniversary is the lily. It promotes devotion, beauty and pride. Year 40 is celebrated with the gladioli for vitality and remembrance. Finally, the 50th anniversary is notable with yellow roses. A yellow rose celebrates trust, high merit and humbleness.

Flowers are beautiful and can be used for many different purposes but most of the time they are used to show appreciation or congratulations of some sort. If you know someone with a wedding anniversary coming up, give them the unique wedding gifts ideas of flowers to celebrate it.

Gardening is an activity that provides many people with happiness and joy. It can be rewarding to see the fruits of your efforts as you work to maintain a successful garden. And, a garden can increase the beauty in your life and provide you with needed nutrients for your diet. However, it is important to remember that gardening requires certain tools for success. Your dress is one of them, so keep these tips in mind to help you dress appropriately in the nursery.

Dirt and Clothing

Gardening is a hands on activity. When you garden, you are getting yourself dirty – literally. Therefore, make sure to avoid wearing clothes that you don’t want to ruin. It is never fun to ruin your favorite shirt. And this can take away from the joy that you experience when you garden. Look for t-shirts online. This is a good resource to find affordable shirts that you can get dirty and rebuy if necessary.

Protection From The Sun

Also, remember that when you are in the nursery, your skin will be exposed to the sun for an extended period of time. The right clothing will protect you. If you spend hours in the sun, you might consider investing in UV protective clothing. Also, you can always wear a hat to protect your face. And, you can look to clothing that covers more for an added benefit. Also, you can always add extra coverage to your skin with some sunscreen. Keep some on hand for your gardening days.

Have fun in your garden with the right clothes!

Get the Community Involved

Enlisting the help of family and friends can help make this garden both fun and rewarding as well. Neighbors may also offer to help with the garden once they see what a benefit it van be to the entire neighborhood. If you have enough space to manage a decent variety of produce, this garden may even turn a healthy profit year after year as your gardening skills improve. Speaking with other gardeners in the area and visiting the local organic retailers and farmer’s markets can be very effective in giving the information and aspirations you need in order to start the perfect home garden.

Sometimes the best way to get started on a big project is by receiving a little help. Garden accents are a nice touch for any garden. You don’t have to fill your entire yard with gnomes, crystal balls, colored lights, gargoyle statues, ponds and so on. A few bought or handmade garden accents will do nicely.

Hit The Sales At Craft Stores

Not long ago--the wife, on one of her seemingly endless shopping trips, actually brought home something really cool. She had stopped at a craft shop and found wooden figures, about the size of the palm of your hand, carved into different shapes such as fish, birds, hummingbirds, frogs, turtles, seashells and so on. By using nontoxic paint (we colored them with water and food coloring) in multicolored designs, drilling a hole in the bottom big enough for ¼ inch dowel (or the free chopsticks you get when you order Chinese takeout), and inserting the dowel you now have these accents to stick in the ground around the garden or other areas of the yard. They’re cute, they were cheap and we made them. If you’re handy with a jigsaw you could always cut the figures yourself. Personally there’s not enough time in my day for such ridiculousness.

Get Your Garden Stoned

No you’re not getting stoned in your garden and you’re not getting stoned off of anything you grow in your garden; what you are doing is collecting some of the most unusual and beautiful stones from everywhere you go and placing them in a collection as a border around your garden. When the sun shines, many of these rocks will sparkle—some in different colors. They can be large, medium or small; just remember that they should be big enough to be utilitarian but not so big that you can’t carry them home.

Beautiful colors and odd shapes are best; and if you really want to make them special you can take a permanent marker (nontoxic) and write on the bottom of each one where it is you got them from. Memories.

The world is filled with incredible beauty.  Sometimes all it takes is opening the eyes.  Once you open your eyes, you can see beautiful things all around you.  Enjoy buildings, architecture, and most of all, the environment.  In particular, consider spending more time in the beautiful gardens near your home around the world.  These gardens will help you develop an appreciation for nature.  And they will create a peaceful feeling in your heart and mind.

The Garden of Cosmic Speculation

First, consider taking a trip to Scotland to view the Garden of Cosmic Speculation.    This beautiful garden has everything any garden connoisseur would like – and more!  Unfortunately it’s only open to the public one day each year.  Charles Jencks set up this garden with his wife.  It is located near the Portrack House, close to Dumfries.  The garden is unique and unlike any others you will find.  It was created in 1989.  In particular, this garden was designed to provoke thought and speculation about the nature of things.

Versailles

Next, take a visit to the famous city of Versailles in France.  This is one of the most beautiful places in the world.  Many consider it to be the most famous garden.  It contains lots of history and was constructed by Louis XIV.  These gardens required a lot of work initially.  Land was moved to create a suitable environment for the flower beds.  In addition, many upgrades were made to the existing space.  Trees were brought in on carts.  And soil was transported on wheelbarrows.  All of this effort was worth it.  The beautiful garden still stands today.  Visit this garden to learn more about France’s history and enjoy breathtaking views.

Fiji

Finally, head to Fiji where beautiful gardens are blooming.  Alex Van Heeren Huka retreats are a great option for gardens.  They offer tranquility and beauty to all who visit the area.  Many local residents spend time here.  And many people also travel around the world to visit Fiji and see its beauty.

Plan your visits to some of the most beautiful gardens in the world.  You can begin with local gardens and move on to gardens around the world!

Remodeling your home is always a very good thing to do because not only will you get to enjoy a new kitchen or bathroom, but remodeling also will improve the value of your home.

Improving Your Property

For instance if you live in Atlanta, then you should always get a good idea about how much your property is worth. When it comes time to remodeling you need to make a decision on which room you are going to remodel. If you are thinking of redoing your bathroom then you need to be sure that you get the perfect contractor. The contractor needs to be specialized in Atlanta bathroom remodeling. This is very important because the contractor needs to be licensed and also carry all of the proper insurance.

Remodeling Your Home

Choosing to remodel your bathroom is a wonderful way to add value to your home. Plus having a new bathroom is always welcomed because you can get all new fixtures and even have marble countertops installed. There is nothing like a clean brand-new bathroom. Atlanta remodeling contractors are excellent at their job and they make sure they do quality work. Try to make the contractor's work area as clean as possible so that he is not tripping over any of your household belongings. Any clutter the contractor has to deal with means extra hours that you will have to pay for.

Remember to do whatever your contractor needs and stick to the schedule that he has provided. The best thing you can ever do when it comes to helping your contractor is making sure that all of the furniture in any cabinets is cleaned out ahead of time. Things like this can really help out the situation and you will get you bathroom done even faster.

Container gardens are all the rage this spring. With the new styles of containers coming in such a vast array of colors, gardening can be more decorative than ever. And you don’t have to destroy an entire section of your lawn to enjoy fresh vegetables this year.

A Hobby Or A Resource Whether you’re looking for something to do with idle time or a way to feed your family healthier, organically and less expensively; container gardening is an easy and enjoyable way to go about it. Popular vegetables that are most often grown in container type gardening situations are as follows: peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, radishes and carrots. That does not however mean that you are limited to those few. Container gardening is the solution to many problems that often plague gardeners. These situations range from adverse soil issues to pest control and space saving.

How Green Is My Garden? It doesn’t cost an arm and leg to start your own container gardens, but the initial investment (especially if you have no spare cash) can be easily covered with quick and easy money loans. For right around $50.00 you can pick up ready to grow kits called earth boxes. Or figure $4.00 for potting soil; 6 to 4 dollars for the plastic pots (containers); and just for the sake of example a tomato plant. From just one healthy container grown tomato plant you can realize approximately 15 pounds of product. In order to grow that one plant it will most likely have cost you in the vicinity of $13.00. Were you to buy 15 pounds of that product in the grocery store it would cost you approximately $22.00. You can see that not only will you be growing the vegetables that your family will be consuming under conditions that you yourself specify but you’ll be saving money and having fun in the process.

Organic foods can be expensive to purchase.  For this reason, many people grow their own gardens.  It is easy to create an organic environment for your plants to flourish in.  With time, you will have the organic nutrients you need for long term health.

Protect You Garden From Pests

One of the first things to do if you plan on growing organic foods is to protect your garden from pests.  Since you will not be using chemical pest controls, you will want to be sure that your garden fights off pests naturally.  This is easy to do with proper planning.  Use tools and soil that will decrease pests and allow your plants to grow.

Choose The Right Soil

In addition to water, it is important that your organic garden is grown in a healthy environment.  A good environment begins with the right soil.  Keep in mind that not all soils are organic.  Therefore, it will be up to you to determine which organic soil is right for your garden. Lastly, remember that growing organically isn’t something that only professionals do.  Instead, it is a hobby shared by many.   Be patient and learn as you go.  In time, you will benefit from your efforts.

In some parts of the world it's been a long hard winter. But fear not, spring is nearly upon us. In my part of the universe where winters can be extremely wearing, we actually caught a break and are already starting to see the tulips breaking ground.

If Winter Was Worrisome

Possibly you ended up having to buy chains or new tires to get through the snow; maybe you had to buy a brand new snow blower because the one you've had for the last 20 years finally gave up the ghost; possibly even more catastrophic occurrences plagued your home because of all the snow and ice. Even if you are insured, repairs cost money as do new snow blowers and car tires. If you blew the wad on winter, spring is looking mighty lean.

Spring Means A New Beginning

As long as you're sure that you can cover it in the near future, you might want to consider going online and comparing some of the cash advance opportunities available to you. Comparing one against the other, and all the fine print that goes with them, is definitely worth reading about. Getting a little bit of assistance now can mean the difference between a productive planting season and a happy harvest or slim seeding and slim pickin’s this year.
